Many of us take for granted that symbols and the written words are used everyday in exchange of information. So many people take their vision for granted. And we never pause to think what the world would be like without it.
People who are visually impaired face significant challenges. They are excluded from the information and face difficulties in interacting comfortably with their environment. Even in the 21st century there is still a great need for assisted technology for the visually disabled.
Orcam is an intuitive portable device with a small camera mounted on eyeglasses, that recognizes text, objects and speaks to the wearer with a bone conduction earpiece. All you have to do is just point and by responding to this simple gesture Orcam device understand what you want on its own.
In the future, Orcam will be equipped with additional abilities, including recognising faces, places, approaching public transportation, colours and much more.
